Stories Wanted
Stories of people with developmental disabilities and their families are what move people to action – whether that’s elected officials, employer prospects, or the general community. It’s essential to get beyond the numbers and acronyms of the disability field.
Please take a few minutes to share your story - whether you are a person with disabilities, a family member, a community partner, or a professional in the field.
It's Awards Season!
Nominations are now open for The Arc Baltimore annual awards. There are many staff members, people with disabilities who we support, and community partners who have given so much of themselves to The Arc's mission and deserve recognition. Please consider nominating a candidate you feel is deserving of a special award.
This year’s annual report focuses on people who are living their lives on their own terms, plain and simple.
Nothing inspirational.
Nothing extraordinary.
Just people making the most of life. We invite you to read them as these are the stories that don’t always get told but are vital to the daily realization of our mission – a life well lived.
Driven by the success of the people we support
We strive to support people with developmental disabilities to live their best lives - whether they are finding success at their job, connecting with family and friends, or becoming engaged in their neighborhood. Here are just a few of the many success stories that fuel our mission!
Apply to our Family Fund
For people with developmental disabilities and their families, The Arc Baltimore administers a Family Fund that can be used for crises such as eviction prevention or utility turnoff, as well as needs not covered by insurance like some therapies, eyeglasses, wheelchair ramps, or other therapeutic equipment. It is also available to help with special needs to improve one’s life, such as an iPad, art lessons, or a gym membership for swimming.
The theme of this year's Fund the Mission appeal, which raises additional funds for The Arc, was Friendships We Treasure, which showed a small sample of the friends and relationships supported by the organization. Please give yourself a few minutes to enjoy and reflect on what friends mean here at The Arc – and to each of us.
The appeal remains open through October 31st, and we hope you will watch the video and choose to contribute – and help us reach our goal.
Art in the Round brought together a magical mix of artists, family, and friends to celebrate the talent and generosity at the 22nd annual event. More than 300 gathered for competitive bidding on art, chances on a Toast to Tuscany, fantastic food and drink, live art creation, and pure enjoyment at witnessing the artists' pride.
In addition to our sponsors, we thank the committee members, especially our chairs, Jen Brandenburg & Laura Ward, and our staff volunteers, who gave their time and creativity to make the evening a success.
Submit Your Artwork
Artists of all ages with developmental disabilities looking to have their art showcased and auctioned off at this year's Art in the Round must submit their artwork by Friday, September 1st. Please don't delay!
All artwork must be accompanied by a completed artist packet.
Tickets On Sale!
Art in the Round tickets are now available for purchase. In the meantime, please consider joining our title sponsor, Scientific Plant Service, by sponsoring Art in the Round, which entitles you to event tickets and many additional benefits!
Keep an eye out for when we open the virtual gallery and early mobile bidding, and when we promote our Toast to Tuscany raffle, the Fund the Mission appeal, and more.

Facing COVID: Annual Report
The amazing stories, told from many perspectives, in our latest digital annual report chronicle the past year as we faced COVID and continue to do so together. It documents the uncertainty, the challenges, the innovation, and most importantly, the hope demonstrated by our entire community.
