Many area companies directly employ people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who become indispensable members of their workforce. The Arc staff works with supported employees to find the right job to meet their interests and skill set. An employment support specialist or job coach from The Arc Baltimore trains the new supported employee until they meet all job requirements. The job coach then stays connected to the employer and employee, perhaps on a weekly basis or as more training is necessary.

The Arc supports workers who are employed directly by area companies in many kinds of work including food service, office support, custodial, retail stocking, and customer service.

For more information about obtaining employment services, contact the Outreach Department at 410-296-7667.
