Individual Volunteer Opportunities

Arc Buddies:
Develop a friendship with an individual with a development that shares your interests. Your commitment is to communicate once a week, by phone, a note, a visit to their home, and eventually out into the community.

We need child care volunteers during our Family Support Group meetings on the first Wednesday of the month and the third Thursday of the month from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm at 7215 York Rd.

Computer Deconstruction:
Help people with disabilities take apart computers for refurbishment. Like to dismantle equipment and see how things work? Then this opportunity might be for you!

Day Center:
Share your time and talent with people with developmental disabilities at a day center, Monday through Friday, 9 am – 3 pm. Help someone learn about computers, learn a new activity or independent living skill, or just be good company.

Become an individual with a disability’s email and/or Facebook pal, and help them to get used to using social media to communicate.

Golf Tournament Committee:
Committee members help with securing sponsorships, golfers, prizes, celebrities and auction items for our largest fundraising event in May.

Office Assistant:
Many of our departments need help with office duties. If you can spare some time during the day to help with data entry, filing, answering email, donation management, special events, etc, we need you!

We need volunteer musicians, singers, story-tellers or other performers to come and share your talents at one of our day centers.

Tech Time:
Assistants needed for Tech Time class that helps people with disabilities practice using social media, email, and the internet, and meets the 3rd Wednesday of the month, from 3-5 pm, at 7215 York Rd.

Group/Corporate Volunteer Opportunities

The Arc Baltimore is happy to have your social/civic/religious/corporate group participate in one of our special events or we can create a volunteer opportunity to fit your group’s availability and needs. It may be house painting or putting in a garden bed at an Arc supported house, or an ongoing program at one of our facilities doing something fun with people The Arc supports.

In addition, there are leadership opportunities through Arc committees and our board of directors that can support corporate team building goals.
